Get the party started and see in the New Year with some of these fabulous Party Food recipes!!

A round up of the very best Party Food recipes that I’ve shared over the years that are worthy of your New Years’ Eve Party!! Or browse the full Party Foods recipe collection at your leisure!

25 Best Party Food Recipes on RecipeTin Eats

I love this time of the year! Quality time with family and friends, and every gathering I attend inevitably involves food. A get together without food is….just a meeting, isn’t it? 😂

So I find myself regularly digging through my stash of party food recipes to find fast, easy, make ahead recipes to take to get togethers. As I browsed through my site, I was surprised by how many Party Food recipes I’ve shared over the years!

But actually, I guess it shouldn’t be that much of a surprise because I simply blog what I make on a day to day basis in my “real life”. And regular readers know that I’m a self confessed Snack Monster.

If you have the time, have a browse through the entire  Party Foods recipe collection for ideas. But for now – here are my picks for the 25 BEST Party Food Recipes on RecipeTin Eats!!

25 Best Party Foods

Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls – They look great, they taste amazing and they’re (pretty) healthy! The peanut dipping sauce is sensational! These are so fabulously fresh and I’ve got a few tips to make rolling these up a breeze.

Jam packed with fresh, bright flavours, learn how to make Vietnamese Rice Paper Rolls with an easy to follow video tutorial and step by step photos. Served with an addictive Vietnamese Peanut Dipping Sauce! recipetineats.com

Cocktail Meatballs – soft, plump, juicy meatballs smothered in a Sweet and Sour Sauce. Devoured in minutes!!! Also: Thai Meatballs, Cheeseburger Meatballs (topped with cheese and a mii pickle!)

Plump, juicy and soft, these Party Cocktail Meatballs are baked and served with a fabulous Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce that's super quick to make. Great make ahead for parties! recipetineats.com

Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread – I can’t think of a better centrepiece for a party. Your guests will swarm to wherever you put this! Great for making ahead – just prepare it ready for baking and store it in the fridge or freezer, then pop it in the oven when you’re ready to serve. Still my most requested party food – I’ve lost count how many times I’ve been asked to make this! Also try this Pizza version!

Crispy Parmesan Roasted Potatoes – These make an amazing starter with a dipping sauce!!!

Make these Crispy Roasted Parmesan Potatoes for your Sunday roast or pass them around at a party! recipetineats.com

Salami Cream Cheese Rolls – These are insanely addictive!! I love how it’s made too – rolling up overlapping salami slices with a layer of cream cheese!

Sausage Rolls – One of the greatest Aussie party foods ever. Full stop! Vegetarian option: Spinach Ricotta Rolls.

The BEST Homemade Sausage Rolls recipe! Easy to make, a homemade pork mince filling wrapped in puff pastry. Truly as good as what you get from gourmet bakeries!! recipetineats.com

Stay-Crispy Movie Popcorn – Recent addition to my most In-Demand recipes! I took bags and bags of this to a gathering and everyone went mad for them. Especially the kids. The best part is that the popcorn stays crispy even after dousing with butter! (If you like your movie popcorn with a lightly sweet touch too, try my Lightly Sweet ‘n Salty Popcorn. And if it’s Christmas time, you must Christmas Popcorn Candy!)

Yellow Homemade Movie Popcorn in a popcorn bucket

Bucket of Prawns with Dipping Sauces! 5 different sauces provided. Doesn’t get more Aussie than a pile of unpeeled cooked prawns and dipping sauces! Including the RecipeTin Family Special dipping sauce. 😇 For a posh option, try these individual Prawn Cocktails.

5 great Prawn Dipping Sauces: Cocktail / Seafood Sauce, Tartare, Marie Rose / Thousand Island, or a Thai Chilli Lime Sauce for something fresher. recipetineats.com

Coconut Prawns/Shrimp with Thai Mango Dipping Sauce – Crispy Coconut coated prawns with a sweet / tangy dipping sauce that’s got your name ALL over it. Those prawns are outrageous – I swear I could devour the whole plate myself! More prawns great for nibbling: Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns, Garlic Prawns, Brown Butter Prawns.

Coconut Shrimp / Prawns with Spicy Thai Mango Sauce

25 Best Party Foods

Browse the entire Dip Collection (yes, this Snack Monster has shared so many dip recipes there’s an entire recipe collection of them!)

Queso Dip (Mexican Cheese Dip) – It stays silky smooth even when it cools!!! Which means you can take it to parties or outdoor gatherings and it’s still creamy and dip-able! Also see the Nachos Cheese Dip version.

Code cracked: Queso Dip made with real cheese that's ultra silky even when it cools. recipetineats.com

Guacamole – No one can ever put their finger on it, but they just know this is better than the usual guacamole! I picked up a couple of little Chef tips so this really is a Guac like you get at really great Mexican restaurants. Plus, you’ll LOVE the tip to stop Guac from going brown! Variations: Avocado Hummus and Stays Green Avocado Sauce.

Guacamole in a white bowl with corn chips, ready to be eaten

Hot Corn Dip – This is a dip that’s bursting with flavour from golden sautéed corn plus onion, garlic, peppers/capsicum, jalapeño and spices all mixed through a creamy cheesy dip….  It’s something a little different and it’s OUTRAGEOUS how addictive it is!

Essential Super Bowl food - a big batch Hot Corn Dip that's made for eating with eyes glued to the TV screen.

Bacon Dip – If you mix a ton of bacon into a creamy dip, only good things can happen. Bonus: Serve it in an edible bowl!

This Cheese and Bacon Dip is creamy, cheesy and loaded with bacon! Super easy to make, made with cream cheese. recipetineats.com

Hummus – A dip list is never complete without Hummus on the list! Variations: Try this Avocado Hummus, or add sun dried tomatoes, olives, artichokes or roasted peppers and blitz! Add a bit at a time until you achieve the flavour you want.

Everyone needs a great Hummus recipe. No unnecessary frills. Just a classic done right. recipetineats.com

Pig Out Salsa (Chorizo, Corn, Bean Salsa) – I catered a surprise party for a friend early this year and amongst a whole table of appetisers, this was the first to go! Make it, and you’ll understand the name….😂

I call this a PIG OUT Salsa. Sensible people would call it an Chorizo, Black Bean and Corn Salsa. :) recipetineats.com

French Onion Dip – Made from scratch with caramelised onions, this is completely incomparable to store bought. But if time is of the essence (or if you’re feeling sentimental) try this retro 2 Minute French Onion Dip made with store bought soup mix!!

Homemade French Onion Dip - Barefoot Contessa's simple recipe is insanely good. Even the best store bought will never compare!

Festive Italian Cheese Log – I shared this as a Christmas Appetizer this year! But it’s a great one for any occasion. It’s like an antipasto platter, in cheese log form. Dive in with crackers or serve with knives for smearing if you’re civilised!

Christmas Appetiser Italian Cheese Log with Christmas tree in background - festive appetizer for the holidays

Spinach Artichoke Dip – If you have an artichoke-obsessed friend in your life like I do, then this one’s mandatory for you too…

Close up of ritz cracker scooping up Spinach Artichoke Dip in a rustic black dish

Smoked Salmon Dip – Sounds a little posh!! Great way to make smoked salmon stretch further. 🙂 If you’ve ever tried store bought smoked salmon dip, the flavour of this will knock your sock off. I mean, it actually tastes of smoked salmon! 😂

You'll never buy a Smoked Salmon Dip with flavour this good! recipetineats.com

Restaurant Style Salsa – Here’s a lighter alternative to all that creamy, cheesy goodness above!! This is a super easy, fresh and restaurant-style salsa, the perfect consistency for scooping up with corn chips. It takes minutes to whizz together (or make it in a mortar and pestle). So much cheaper, healthier and tastier than store bought!

Restaurant Style Salsa - so simple, so fresh, so much cheaper and better than store bought.

Crudites Platter (that’s “Veggie Platter” in plain English) – crackers and chips are the obvious option for serving with dips. But for a healthier and irresistibly colourful option, what about putting together a Crudites Platter instead? Any veggies will go here as long as it can be dipped! I serve most raw but I cook things like asparagus, cauliflower and broccoli.

Pictured below with Hummus.

25 Best Party Foods

Festive Brie – A 2 minute appetizer that looks festive and is devoured in seconds! It’s like the best fondue you’ll ever have! Or try this Baked Brie with Maple Syrup and Thyme.

3 Minute Melty Festive Brie - Just microwave for 1 minute and you have an almost-instant baked brie appetizer! recipetineats.com

Herb Chilli Feta – An impressive, cost effective starter that takes minutes to make and looks so festive!

Herb Chilli Feta - a cost effective starter that looks as great as it tastes!

Cheese Truffles (Mini Cheese Balls) – Everything is better in mini form! These are made with your choice of cream cheese, feta or goats cheese and with plenty of coating options!

Cheese Truffles (Mini Cheese Balls) - so much more practical than making one giant one! Fast and easy to make, with 3 filling variations and loads of coating options.

25 Best Party Foods

Truly Crispy Baked BUFFALO WINGS – Knock the socks off your guests when you tell them these are actually baked, not fried….These are TRULY crispy chicken wings courtesy of American’s Test Kitchen who did the hard hards for us and found the scientific way to make EASY crispy wings in the oven. These reheat wonderfully – CRISPY!

Truly Crispy Oven Baked Buffalo Wings - no false promises here, these wings are seriously crispy and unbelievably easy to make. Tossed in a classic Buffalo Sauce and served with blue cheese sauce. Watch the recipe video to HEAR just how crispy these are! recipetineats.com

Truly Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings with Honey Garlic Sauce – And here’s an alternative version with a fabulous Honey Garlic Sauce!

Truly Crispy Oven Baked Wings | These come out so crispy, it's hard to believe they aren't fried. So easy - a Cook's Illustrated technique.

Sticky Chinese Chicken Wings – We had these as a starter for our Recipetin Family Christmas. It wasn’t even an Asian themed menu, but we demanded these anyway because we all love them so much! Also try these Vietnamese Chicken Wings!

The ultimate Chinese Sticky Wings, my family recipe tweaked and perfected over years with many heated debates!

If you made it through that giant list – congratulations. (I think there’s a few more than 25…. 😂)

Happy New Year to you all! Thank you for another year of making this dream job possible for me. As strange as it might sound, it’s all of you who make RecipeTin Eats what it is. Reading, commenting, sharing, cooking the recipes, making me laugh and sometimes even cry with your messages. Without you, it would be very quiet and lonely around here.

Here’s to another year of great food!!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🎉🎉🎉

Merry Christmas & Happy 2019 to you & Dozer, Nagi! Your recipe collection website is my go to place, for a few years now. I love the variety & simplicity of your recipes. Everything I’ve made has been scrumptious! Your new site design is very appealing. I really like that Dozer has his own link. What isn’t so appealing however, is all the ads popping up & flashing over everything as a person tries to read your recipes. I’m aware it’s a stream of revenue for you, but those ads are a major turnoff.

Sorry, but I must challenge you on this. Nagi’s site is very tame ad-wise, restrained even compared to others where ads impose from the left side and even into the text and keep appearing even after one has tried 3 or 4 times to hit the hastily shifting pop-up “X”! Then there are the ones on the right constantly flicking images…one has to put up cardboard shields to maintain sanity!! No, Nagi is to be praised for her careful and considerate use of “adware”. She couldn’t do what she does without some form of financial assistance. Would that she charge followers to view her site? Not me…but she is so good…I would!!

Maybe take a step back, Kathryn, explore other ad-packed sites and reconsider your assessment.

Vivian: you described to a “T” my ad experience with Nagi’s website. Even as I type this I am battling pop up ads. Maybe you should take a step back & not take another persons well meaning, thoughtful, & constructive criticism of their experience meant for someone else NOT you, personally. Have a nice day. 😉

Vivian, Meredith and Kathryn – I thank you all for your feedback here! I do monitor them closely and the ad management company has strict instructions for what I do and do not deem acceptable. Kathryn, if you have seen some pop up ads I’m very sorry, they should not be there but sometimes, evil brands try to sneak in aggressive ads past Googles’ clever filtering system but they do usually get stopped pretty quickly 🙂 To be honest, I actually appreciate it when readers tell me if they see an obstructive or offensive ad because then I can report it and get it stopped! Thank you again, I appreciate each and every one of you for you message. Happy New Year! Time for me to get dolled up and head to a New Years’ Eve party – with Dozer! (And his sparkly hat!! 🎉🎉🎉) N xx ❤️

I agree! I’ve never had a problem with any of Nagi’s posts and barely notice the side ads (maybe it’s different based on what internet browser you use?) I’ve been to a million cooking blogs where you have to click out of several ads or email subscription popups just to view the recipe. This blog is one of my favourites because it’s not like that 🙂

Wow, what a great recipe roundup. Wouldn’t it be fantastic to go to a “Nagi ‘s 25 Best Party Foods” party? Each attendee would bring a different one of the twenty-five dishes and then everyone could have a taste. Now I’ve just got to make 24 more friends so I can host the event.

I tried your pumpkin Soup recipe on Halloween this year and I can’t believe how easy it was to make it was exactly what I wanted a simple and easy to follow I ended up making so much of it I didn’t have to cook for a month I’ve recommended your recipes to my family and I’m looking forward to trying some of these new ones think I will save the party ones for next Christmas as I should have a house full but thanks for the inspiration and help with amazing recipes
